Denise Newton spoke to the Shafter Kiwanis Club during its first meeting at the Veteran's Hall on November 8. The program covered Pacific Gas and Electric topics on electric prices, generation, transmission and distribution, and deregulation. Twenty valley bands participated in the Shafter Band Review, now sponsored by Kiwanis after prior support from Friends of the Fine Arts.
