Shafter High Students Prep for Kern County Academic Decathlon
Seven students from Shafter High School prepare for this year's Academic Decathlon at Bakersfield College. More than 200 competitors from 24 Kern County high schools participate in the 10th annual event. County superintendent Kelly F Blanton says the goal is public recognition for scholars. The contest tests six areas: English and literature, fine arts, physical and biological sciences, history and social science, mathematics, and economics.
