The Fresno State off campus unit on Bakersfield College campus has awarded about 150 teaching certificates in two years. Led by Dean Stanley Lindquist, a nine member staff serves Kern County teachers needing credentials and refresher courses. Shafter Hanover, a two year old colt from the Robert Neuman stables, won his first west coast race this week. It is his second win of the year and marks the first harness racing horse named after Shafter or any Kern County town.
