Restitution ordered in welfare fraud case in Bakersfield
A 41 year old Shafter woman Katherine Louise Taylor pled guilty in Bakersfield Municipal Court to a welfare fraud charge. She received three years formal probation and must pay $2,239 restitution to Kern County Welfare Department. Monthly payments of $65 begin December 1 1976 and she will report to a probation officer monthly.

Mr and Mrs Douglas Reimer and their ten months old adopted son Geofrey returned home October first from Indonesia and are staying with Mr and Mrs Willis Reimer Their daughter Hildegard Marie weighing six pounds was born at Memorial Hospital Two years ago Reimer joined Mennonite Central Committee to work with rural Indonesians and was assigned to Java He left after a year and a half rather than learn another language plans for the future are indefinite They may visit Vancouver BC next month with her parents The Shafter Lions Club heard reports from three sponsored boys who attended camp in Ashland Oregon Frank Peters Doug Garber Jeff Goosen and Randy White accompanied by Coach Mike Nichols.
