Shafter Council Denies Appeal on Housing Permits
Shafter city council denied an appeal on conditional use permits that would move two houses from the old labor camp to Edwards Tract. Two women opposed the permits during Monday night’s hearing, and Councilman Elmer Unruh stated no evidence changed his mind before the motion to deny passed. The permits allow Evert Haskins to use an R-3 West Orange lot for R-1 housing.
