Supervisor Jackson Urges Local Use of Property Taxes

School Bonds Approved Lose In This Area
Kern County Joint Union High School district voters approved bonds district wide but Shafter area residents narrowly rejected the main bonds and Field Act bonds. Precinct totals show varying yes and no counts with Propositions 3 and 4 defeated. Overall 537 ballots favored Proposition 1 and 523 favored Proposition 2 with majorities required.
