The girl was abducted at a Buttonwillow bus stop by two men in a white sedan after a prior Mexico incident. Suspects included Hector Cardenas and Arturo Beltran with a possible border patrol uniform alias.
RLSD trustees released a report praising Daniel Knapp after his first year as superintendent. They cite above average marks, a district focus on goals from a needs assessment, and three priorities including community involvement, CORE curriculum, and junior high staffing and curriculum. Budget constraints limit salary increases for 1991-92, with a contract extension to 1994. Knapp thanks the district for its support.
