California reports a mid September civilian employment record of about 4,944,000 with a 82,000 rise from August and 174,000 more than September 1951. Gains in agriculture and other industries offset a drop in manufacturing due to a work stoppage and seasonal canning declines. Unemployment sits at about 130,000, 22,000 below August. The civilian labor force grows by 60,000 to 5,074,000.
