The Lesselli Marionettes will stage Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves in Shafter on November 15 under a Woman's Club fundraiser for local nurses. Tickets cost fifty cents and are sold by club members or at the door. a puppet act with animals and clowns follows the main performance.
Shafter Woman's Club members meet for a 12 30 lunch hour meeting. Mrs Floyd Cooper and Mrs Joe Frizzell present a candle making and flower decoration program. Mrs Russell Paul, President, presides over a brief business session prior to the program.

John Steven McDowell, 17, son of Kern County Fire Dept veteran Mr. and Mrs. John S. McDowell of Wasco, died Saturday night in a car crash a mile west of Wasco. He was a Wasco High junior active in track cross country Camera Club and Spanish Club. He attended First Methodist Church and Youth Fellowship. burial was at Wasco Cemetery with services by Jones Funeral Home Wasco.
Bankers to Dance Bill Maytubby president of the Kern Chapter American Institute of Bankers announces a dinner dance at the Bakersfield Hacienda Saturday night. Members and guests will attend.

Funeral services were held at the Family Funeral Home for Mrs. Tenter. Survivors include her husband John D. Tenter and their son John D. Tenter of Spokane, sisters T. D. Montgomery Ed Dygert and W. L. Park of Seattle, brother Jerry Garrison of Bothell, and many nephews and nieces. Relatives gathered at 8 a.m. at the Santa Fe depot in Shafter. Mr. Tenter had retired from Shell Oil Company Operations.
