Inland Deer Season Closes With Strong Harvest Hopes
The 1976 Inland Deer Season ends Sunday November 7, hailed as one of the best in over a decade thanks to carryover and 1975 fawn survival. Prospects for 1977 look poorer due to spring drought. Hunters recount preferred stands, notable bucks, and a successful weekend near Basket Pass. Fishing reports cite improving aqueduct fill, good striper and catfish action, Buena Vista crappie and bass, and slower lake trout with opener delayed to December first awaiting better water.
