Shafter Bands and Community Events Highlight Local Weekend
Junior high bands from the Central Valley converge on Shafter for the Band Review at Manuel Park sponsored by the Shafter Friends of the Arts. Also advertised are tickets for the firstest Barn Dinner and Dance by the Soroptimist Club at 13.50 for dinner and dance or 7.50 for dance only, with proceeds supporting a big screen TV for Shafter Con patients and other projects.

Surrounded by escorts Lydia Diaz Cordell Watson and others, Sanchez received the crown and bouquet. She is the daughter of Juan and Hortensia Sanchez and active in MEDia MESA tennis and cross country at SHS.
