SAPD Dispute Over Park Lights Continues
The district program rules are unmet as lights at Kirschenmann Park are used without LAPD knowledge and fees cannot be collected to cover electricity. City officials and SAPD met without agreement. A further meeting is advised. The LAPD set a June 9 7 pm City Hall date for the next regular session after a two hour closed personnel and salaries session.

PUC approves 13.8 percent water rate rise for Sellars
The California Public Utilities Commission granted Sellars Water Service authority to raise rates 13.8 percent to offset higher power and liability costs. Residential bills rise about 1.40 monthly to 12.15, effective May 43, after a March 31 notice to customers. One nitrate concern was raised, tied to one well, with blending requirements in place.
