Two Hour Parking Rule Enforced in Shafter District
Seven violators were cited on the first enforcement day as Constable Reily and Deputy Sheriff Roy Dodenhoff reported. The two hour limit from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. applies on Central avenue from Santa Fe street to Lerdo road and one block each side on Munser and James street. Commercial vehicles over 21 feet are banned in the area. The ordinance took effect April 23 after signs were erected by Friday workers and a state highway patrol member will assist daily. Violations carry up to 25 dollars fine or five days in jail or both.
