Shafter Family Jubilee draws thousands for weekend festivities

The Shafter Family Jubilee featured a vibrant parade with colorful participants and entertainers such as the Desperado Debs and 100 Proof Band. Events included a chili cook-off, teen dance, a Run Shafter with 5 K and 10 K races, racing pigs, a barn dance, breakfast in the park, booths in Manuel Park, and a basketball game. Organizers led by Chair Linda Gragg and Co-Chair Woody Colvard, with numerous volunteers and production crews, delivered a full weekend of community celebration.
