Richland teachers seek 10 percent raise in 2000 01 contract
Richland Teachers Association asks for a 10 percent salary increase and health benefit protections with strike rights for the 2000 01 contract. The proposal would raise average hourly pay from 22.50 to 32 and add 273 741 yearly for health insurance, plus 23 month per member for a new dental plan. Total proposed annual cost is 1 782 741. A May 15 2000 school board meeting agenda also included a tentative 2000 01 budget for review ahead of a June 12 final adoption.

Butterflies from Shafter Exhibit at Smithsonian Museum
