Shafter High students win KHSD scholarships in 1979 fund
Eight Shafter High students receive scholarships funded by the Kern School District nobles trust, aimed at encouraging education beyond high school. The 1985 selection committee included Dr. Art Parrott, Vickie Gray, Father Mike Braun, Dr. John Lavender, Rabbi Steven Preskind, and Rev. Lemuel McKinnie. Debs win honors at Tulare contest led by Sancuns Debs Juvenile Dance Twirl team capturing San e Valley Dance Twirl in their division. Shafter participants Stacy Hutchison Kristin Gladden Cynthia Brown earned multiple top finishes with Cindy Mayhew Kristin Gladden and Kristin Farmer placing in solo Miss Majorette and military events. Choir and band members to attend Big Bear music camp
