Leeper Couple Mark 42nd Wedding Anniversary
Mr and Mrs Charles Leeper celebrate their 42nd anniversary on April 23. Married in El Reno Oklahoma they came to Shafter in 1934 arriving May 1. Charlie first worked with Bender Bros then for J C Ohanneson and later yard work for 40 years prior to 1974 retirement. They have three children two sons in California and a daughter in Monterey along with 18 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Charlie aged 85 in poor health. Living on No Shafter Ave for over 32 years.

Head Start enrollment opens for 1976 77 year
The Head Start program of Shafter invites applications for 3 to 5 year old children for the 1976 77 school year. Forms are available at 452 W Los Angeles St Monday through Friday 8 a m to 2 30 p m.
