War Food Administration outlines meat price and supply program
The War Food Administration published a comprehensive plan to address meat prices and distribution. It includes higher Army beef ceilings, support for federally inspected plants, a crackdown on the black market, limits on farm slaughter for sale, and incentives to boost cattle feeding. Some July 2 changes were cancelled, and farm slaughter for home use remains unchanged. The article also promotes a UC circular for California newcomers and notes turkey procurement for 1945 and limited horse slaughter for civilians.
