Embezzlement Charge Shocks Kern County Feedlot Case
Charlton a 27 year old based in Bakersfield California has been charged with embezzling from Kern County Land Co at the Minatare Nebraska feedlot where he served as manager from June 1963 until February 1968. The investigation led by Clyde A Wilson and Associates and Haskins and Sells Inc may implicate others and involves more than 1000000 dollars. Charlton waived a preliminary hearing and faces District Court bond set at 4000 dollars. The feedlot, with capacity over 30000 head and a 1966 payroll over 200000, is being phased out with all cattle to be sold by July 1 while the lease runs through 1969.
