Shafter 4-H Club Shows Activity and Awards
Shafter 4-H Club participated in multiple events in February and March including the Bakersfield 4-H County Cake Bake where Kara Nickelsen won 1st in 4th-6th grade and Karen Anderson 1st in 9th grade and up. At Demonstration Day March 15 Sharon Jones and Beth Eiden earned blue seals, Kara Nickelsen and Julie Tank earned gold seals with a horse grooming team presentation.

Walker announce birth of Joshua Keith

Shafter High Trackers Excel in Bakersfield Meet
Shafter High track teams placed well at the East Bakersfield Invitational at Bakersfield College with several top finishes. The tennis squads at Shafter split results against Delano with boys and girls both posting one win despite overall losses. In field events, Generals posted two seconds in distance races and contributed to a four mile relay and a two mile team race. At Delano on Tuesday, the boys lost 5-0 and the girls fell 4-1.
