CSF held a car wash and bake sale earning over 250 for scholarships and a Northern California college trip next month. SHS Sport A Thon is set for Wednesday the 25th at 1 40 p.m. Fundraisers include F F A Booster Potluck on Thursday the 26th in the Ag Department.

Go With Soccer Contest At SHS Field This Saturday
A Go With Soccer skills contest at Shafter High School football field begins at 10 a.m. on the upcoming Saturday. It includes four age groups 7-8 9-10 11-12 and 13-14 with boys and girls winners and requires proof of age and official entry forms available at City Hall and local venues.

Shafter Softball 1981 Registration Opens March 16
Adult men women and coed softball teams may pick up the 1981 softball packet March 16 at the Recreation Office 320 James Street City Hall. Registration runs March 30 to April 3 with a 200 dollar fee for men and 150 dollars for women and coed. Teams must submit contracts rosters and play two games weekly from April 13 through July 24.

Winter sports awards honor SHS athletes at potluck
Shafter High School held winter sports awards Monday March 16 in the SHS cafe. Varsity and junior varsity teams across basketball wrestling received senior service plaques while coaches presented honors. Terrance Williams led the flag salute, with Kevin Ross giving the invocation.

Shafter Recreation and Park District seeks umpires and scorekeepers for the 1981 summer season. Open to anyone 16 or older with basic baseball knowledge. Contact Mike Kelley at 320 James St or 746-6361. Umpires must attend an umpire clinic. pay ranges from 7.00 to 12.00 per game, scorekeepers 3.20 per hour.
