Rural pediatrician dies in Wasco crash
Dr Joy C Kimpo aged fifty died after her car was broadsided by a Freightliner at the Highway 43 and Whisler Road intersection in Wasco. She led National Health Services as Chief of Staff and cared for about 31 patients daily across nine Bakersfield area clinics. Survived by husband Carlo and three sons, the Delano family and staff mourn her loss as CHP investigates whether negligence occurred.

The Leaders in Life Youth Conference returns to the Bakersfield Convention Center on Tucs el 15 am for teens from 7th grade to high school. About 1000 future leaders will hear motivational speakers and attend workshops on family issues, gang prevention, tobacco avoidance, teen pregnancy, and more led by keynote James Warren and instructor Poschology and Divinity.
