Red Hatters Visit Shafter Convalescent Home
We the Classmates chapter of the Red Hatters visited Shafter Convalescent Home on Saturday March 11. They presented roses to ladies and handkerchiefs to gentlemen, with three residents wearing Red Hats and photographed. Attendees included Dorothy Holland Selma Bartlett Dora Bradford Virginia Bender Helen Duvall Opal Garrett Wanda Brooks Aileen Rice and Barbara Prickett Craig, who also restocked the home’s Country Store.

Local reservist returns home after year in Iraq
A heartfelt assembly in the Richland School District marked Sgt. 1 Class Judy Reynaga's return after 360 days in Iraq. Council Approves Housing Tract and Park Improvements
The council approves a 40 acre tract to be divided into 102 residential homes with lot sizes from 10 817 to 15 524 square feet under very low density and estate residential zoning. Phase I park improvements include landscaping a restroom and booster pump. An engineering contract for a 13 lot tract north of the park at Schwaidt Street and Los Angeles Avenue was awarded to Dewalt Corporation for subdivision and sale as individual lots. A Fraud Prevention Policy was approved to educate city employees on fraudulent acts reporting and investigation procedures, arising from a 2005 Financial Audit recommendation.
