Windy City Suffers Roof, Power, and Dust Damage
Wind whipped through the city causing tin roofs to tear and shingles to shed. Power lines were down on East Marengo and East Ash as residents reported outages. Sante Fe crews repaired damaged crossing arms and signals while police, public works, and fire units handled calls. Dust filled streets reducing visibility and a lone cyclist gave way to walking. No crop losses were reported, though recently planted crops may have been damaged and some almond trees near Shafter were knocked down.
