A Blue and Gold Cub Scout potluck at Richland Primary Cafeteria featured gens kits as table décor. Ribbons awarded for 1st 2nd 3rd in each den with Eric Cates winning a pack trophy. Den 4 saw Eric Devries 1st and David Brinsfield 2nd. Den 8 had Eric Cates 1st Julian Marquez 2nd Charles Wilson 3rd. Loretta Cates listed as den mother for Den 4.

Ribbons Awarded at Scout Dinner Across Dens
Den 5 led by Greg Davis won two ribbons with Terry Michaels and Donna Batey as den mothers. Den 7 led by Barbara Weidenbach saw Allen Weidenbach take first. Den 2 with Rose Houser as den mother had Jeffrey Pankey first and Lyle DeVries second. Judges included John Wagner Reverend Pete Rutledge and Riley Ashby. Two blue and gold cakes were served.
Richland Students Shine At Kern County Art Festival
Young artists from Richland School District join 27th annual show sponsored by Kern County Parks and Recreation. Exhibits viewable this Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday noon to 3 p.m. at Shafter Veterans Memorial Hall. Other participants include Wasco Union Wasco High Shafter High Lerdo Lost Hills and Wasco schools. First place works to be shown at Cunningham Art Gallery Bakersfield.
