Snow survey restores water for Shafter-Wasco District
After a March 1 snow survey 6600 acre feet of class 2 water were restored for the coming year to the Shafter-Wasco Irrigation District. Restoration may continue until about July 1 depending on monthly snow pack. Farmers have ordered over 42 000 acre feet. At a district meeting Peters Jr. was reelected president Loren Voth reelected vice president and Robert C Diltz named secretary for another term.

Two Meetings Planned For Softball Teams And Rec Board

Delano Invitational Baseball Tournament Opens March 26
Sixteen top valley high school teams including Vasco Delano Arvin Fresno Roosevelt Mt. Whitney and Red participate in the 16th annual Delano Invitational staged by the Delano Lions and Delano High School. Six Seniors Named Winners in 1959 Bank of America Award
Six seniors at Shafter High School were selected as winners in the 1959 Bank of America Achievement Award program. Engraved plaques go to two plaque recipients in Math & Science and Liberal Arts, with certificates for outstanding records in specific subjects. Plaque winners advance to zone competition April 23 in Bakersfield, with finals in San Francisco in May for nine Bay area counties.
