Kern County Advisory Committee meets in Bakersfield
An organizational meeting of Assemblyman William M. Ketchums Kern County Advisory Committee was held last night at the Ramada Inn in Bakersfield. Twenty four members from across the Kern portion of the 29th Assembly District attended led by Chairman Fred Porter. The group discussed how to best assist Ketchum with local issues and proposed duties for each member including constituent views, reporting on local problems, and conveying industry perspectives to Ketchum.

Gianelli to Speak at Kern Water Meeting
William R. Gianelli director of the California Department of Water Resources will headline the Annual Meeting of the Water Association of Kern County on April 17. Arch Frick says the talk will cover the State Water Project status and upcoming year activity with emphasis on Kern County construction and major funding. Gianelli, a Reagan appointee and former planner for the project, is a noted expert on the Sacramento San Joaquin Delta.

Richland Trustees Review Bids on Two Surplus Properties
The Richland District trustees report bids on two of three surplus properties. J L Board of Glennville offered 35000 for 17 acres at State Elm Pine, and Don Christensen bid 12500 for land on West Ash Valley. Gene Guenther offered 10150 for West Ash Valley Wall. No bids on Central Valley Highway parcel. The board will review bids within ten days and seek county counsel confirmation.
