Baby Boy Dies After Birth Graveside Rites Held
Graveside services were held yesterday afternoon for Timmie Brown who died shortly after birth at Kern General Hospital Bakersfield. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Lee Brown of Shafter. Surviving are three brothers Earl and Barb Brown and Vernon Brown and five sisters Ivalee Robinson Bonnie May Rainwaters Marie Brown and Carol Jane Brown. Death of John Fenton at 74 in Shafter
John Fenton, a Shafter resident of 13 years, died at Kern General Hospital at age 74 after three years of illness. Burial occurred at 2 p.m. in Shafter Cemetery with services led by Reverend Jack McAdoo. He was born February 7, 1875 in Arkansas, lived in Oklahoma before moving to California in 1935 and Shafter in 1936. He leaves widow Flora and multiple children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a step daughter, sisters, and pallbearers named Doy Crouch and others.
