Promise Keepers May Change The Nation In Retreating Tone
Nation of Islam leader Louis Farakhan drew hundreds of thousands to a march in Washington advocating separation and racial hatred yet Promise Keepers rallies across California drew thousands of men of diverse faiths. The movement, started in 1991 by Bill McCartney, seeks family centered spiritual renewal and positive personal change. Local participants hailed the gatherings as inspiring and transforming families while noting its inclusive message contrasts with Farakhan’s approach.
