Scrapbook notes by Durward Annis recount a Civil War era scout story set in 1866 near Fort Dodge. A wagon train attacked by Indians, a lone scout rescuing a woman, four bullet wounds, a military funeral, and a disputed court martial. The piece frames these as oral history from Annis.
Pack 913 held a Blue and Gold Pack meeting on February 26 honoring 50 years of scouting. The Diabetes Association of Kern County will hold its March meeting on Thursday March 13 at 7 pm in Cobb Hall at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. Dr Dale Anderson podiatrist will discuss preventing foot problems for diabetics followed by a question and answer session.
