7 11 opens in Shafter with weekend festivities
The first 7-Eleven in Shafter opened February 13 at Lerdo and Central Valley Highways. A weekend of activities included a $200 donation to the Shafter Recreation and Parks District Sportsmanship Awards, a Pepsi Patrol Van, a Mesa Marin Pace Car appearance, and a live remote by KQXR FM. Dentists Screen 1200 Kern County Schoolchildren
Kern County Dental Society held its annual dental screening at Richland Lerdo and Maple schools. Volunteers from KCDS hosted screenings, distributed posters and toothbrushes, and sent home care notes. The auxiliary gave puppet shows on oral hygiene.
