Shafter boy critically injured in two-vehicle incident
A four-year-old Shafter boy was critically injured when struck by a semi-truck in the 30500 block area on Tuesday June 22 at 2:48 p.m. The truck, driven by Eloy Zuniga Moya, 33, of Shafter, hit him as he ran across the road causing a power pole to fall and a local outage. Witnesses described the driver braking and swerving to avoid the boy. Authorities said the boy was taken for emergency care and the investigation continues.
