MAPA president Ben Benavidez pledges continued pressure on Richland-Lerdo School District as two board seats appear on the November ballot. Trustee seat changes follow past push to move from at large to trustee areas, with Measure D previously failing and district elections looming.

Edelmiro Gutierrez, 23, of Shafter had minor injuries and refused treatment. Morris was charged with misdemeanor manslaughter. The crash occurred June 24 at 8 25 p m.
The once popular Wasco High School athlete Offord Rollins remains confined at the California Youth Authority Ventura School in Camarillo after a 1990 murder verdict. Supporters maintain his innocence while his family and attorneys say he has never faced prior trouble. An appeal is pending as Rollins endures a difficult detention.
Appealing killer Rollins with 25 to life term faces ongoing uncertainty as prosecutors say the verdict should stand. Children who found the body at Highway 46 site recall the discovery a case that tests the guilty or innocent in Kern County details.
