Taylor murder in Wasco remains unsolved after two years

The slaying of Shafter Countryside Market manager Clifford Roy Taylor on October 30, 1992, remains unsolved. Investigators say there is no new information and urge witnesses to come forward. Taylor, 41, was shot near his Wasco home as he prepared to drive to work, dying at Kern Medical Center.

Murder trial set for Brinsfield case in Bakersfield

Shafterman Steven Allen Brinsfield, 30, was ordered to stand trial for murder in the shooting death of his brother Carl Brinsfield, 32, at 19000 Zachary Ave. Witnesses heard a prior argument over tools. Stabbing in Shafter leaves Francisco Reyes stable at hospital

Francisco Montoya Reyes, 29, of Shafter, was stabbed at a mini-mart on South Shafter Avenue and listed in stable condition after being transported to Memorial Hospital. A Shafter Police spokesperson said there are no suspects at this time and the motive is unknown.
