Tom Rayburn Named To Serve On Board
Tom Rayburn of Tulare has been named to the board of directors of the International Agri Center Inc parent of the California Farm Equipment Show. Rayburn, a 20 year volunteer, works as a mechanic and harvest supervisor for Gilroy Foods in Tulare. Others renewing terms are Mark Watte Jim Luis and Jill Worley. Robert Uchita was elected to a second term as chairman. Rayburns father helped direct traffic at the first show in 1968 and became a volunteer the next year. He began volunteering as a high school student and later worked in the south office when the show was at the fairgrounds. At the permanent site he is known as The Animal House among volunteers. About 250 volunteers assist with show activities including Rayburn who uses vacation time to work without pay. The 1990 show runs February 13 15. Rayburn expects permanent buildings will expand the show and its activities for the International Agri Center Inc.
