Declaration Day echoes in early American history
Fred Starre ll travels to Washington as state residents recall Independence Day origins. July 6 1776 the Pennsylvania Evening Post first printed the Declaration. July 8 crowds cheered and bells rang. In 1941 Congress declared July 4 a federal holiday.
