Peters Potato Shed Moves to Shafter After 50 Years
Maple Leaf Enterprises owned by the Peters family relocated from Wasco to Shafter after decades of potato packing. The move stems from rail track constraints and an aging Wasco facility. The new site features automated weighing and packaging lines, improved cleanliness, and a safer fire-prone environment. Peters employ about 70 workers, with long-time growers praising service and flexibility.
