Water Act Modifications Quietly Signed By State Leaders
Senator Walter W. Stiern Assemblyman John C. Williamson and Assemblyman Jack T. Casey announced the governor signed three bills amending the Antelope Valley Eastern Water Agency Act. They add recall power to directors, bar vetoes on forming local retail water districts, revise withdrawal rules, and allow petitions by 15 percent of voters and 25 percent of landowners to trigger an election on exclusion from the agency. The changes follow a study by the Assembly Interim Committee on Water.
