Recreation and Park District outlines summer offerings including aquatics lessons pool schedules day camps youth and adult trips dances movies and game room hours. Olympic volleyball star to lead UC Davis summer camp
Lang Jenny Ping the Olympic gold medalist and 1985 World Best volleyball player will join coach John Kessel for UC Davis Summer Girls Volleyball Camp sessions July 31 to Aug 5 and Aug 7 to 12. Camp offers fundamentals, defense, offense, and daily drills with three enrollment options and contact numbers.

Shafter SRPD Summer Weight Room and Stingrays Program
The Shafter Recreation and Park District opens the weight room at Shafter High June 20 to August 15 from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Friday for ages eight and up with no fee. The Shafter Stingrays swim team accepts ages 6-18, practices 5 to 6 30 p.m. Monday to Friday, meets Saturdays, coached by Bob Smith, with a $25 fee that covers a suit. SHS coed volleyball final ends in tight showdown
Spring intramurals at SHS ended with a best of five playoff between two coed teams. Team 2 opened 15-5 15-5, Team 1 answered 15-8 15-4, and the decisive fifth game finished 16-14 as Team 2 claimed the title.
