Kiwanis hears about Kern County Museum progress
Kern County Museum curator Jeff Nickell spoke at the Wednesday Kiwanis lunch in Bakersfield at 3801 Chester Ave. He presented 80 slides of towns across Kern County with many from turn of the century, including a 1914 Shafter image of Central Avenue and the Green Hotel. Nickell said the museum is in its best shape and improving. A full summer schedule at Lori Brock Children's Discover Center offers art workshops, fun days, socials at low prices.
