Boys' Club Earns Buttonwillow Praise For Efforts
Buttonwillow residents celebrate the boys' club founded in 1947 with support from the American Legion and Lions Club. Deputy Weber and Constable Barneke credit growth to donations and police involvement, noting 148 members aged eight to twenty. The club offers swimming, basketball, baseball, boxing, tumbling, fencing, and wrestling, and competes regionally with plans for state-wide events next season.
