Americans plan higher summer vacation spend with credit card use
The Myvesta Summer Vacation Survey finds 78.2 percent of trips charged to cards and a 9.5 percent rise in planned summer travel. The average vacation cost rises to 2378 dollars with Northeast residents at 2710, West at 2602, South at 2272, and Midwest at 2057. Credit cards may ease tracking but should not finance unaffordable trips.

AARP Meeting Highlights Kern County Alzheimer Topic
Willie Spack of the Alzheimer Association of Kern County spoke at the May AARP meeting. Spack coordinates day care and runs Respite Centers at Taft and Wasco two days weekly. Centers charge 15 dollars daily and offer games crafts and exercises for patients while giving caregivers a day of rest. The Olive Drive office can be reached at 393-871. The tour to Laughlin was rescheduled to June 2 4 due to graduations. Next meeting is June 16 a salad luncheon at Memorial Film 11 30 am invited community.
