Richland Lerdo and Maple School honor 1998 graduates
The 1998 graduating eighth graders at Richland-Lerdo Junior High and Maple School are praised as outstanding academically and in extracurriculars. About 215 seniors are set to graduate June 3 at 7 p.m. after a three day trip to Sacramento and San Francisco to visit government offices, attractions, and celebrate achievements in History Day and leadership.

Katherine Scaroni Remembered In Shafter Memorial Notice
Katherine Scaroni, a busy Shafter resident who taught crochet and visited Wasco weekly, died recently. She stringed beads for bingo prizes and held a special stringing board made by her son. She belonged to the Shafter Seventh Day Adventist Church and is survived by daughter Pearl McClain, brothers Henry Baerg and David Baerg, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Preceded in death by husband John Scaroni in 1978.
