Memorial Day honors fallen veterans across Kern County

Graduates move forward after four years at Shafter High
2011 Shafter High School graduates Joey Aguirre and Simon Viss embark on new paths. Aguirre earned a Kern District PEAAK Award for Best Theatrical Performance and will attend Biola University with a 3.5 GPA. Viss heads to Prairie Bible College in Three Hills, Alberta to study Worship and Ministry. Both describe growth through drama and school.
