Prospects Improve for Early Buck Hunt Season in California
California opens its 1970 early deer season on August 1 with carryover bucks strong in many counties. Dry conditions aid locating deer. expected kill similar to last year in Marin Sonoma and some open coastal districts, but poorer in Contra Costa Alameda and others. New tagging rules require validation and a deer taken in one district must bear both tags. The season runs through September 13 with a two buck limit and licenses required.
