Irrigation District Adopts 1983 Budget With Small Increase
The Shafter-Wasco District approved its 1983 budget on July 13, 1982, totaling 820,874 for next year. The overall budget rises 11,500 or 1.4 percent from 1982, with no change in the assessment rate for the fourth consecutive year. Water costs and standby charges stay the same, and despite delayed property valuations, increases are expected to be minimal under Prop 13. The 1982 water year was strong, helping balance added costs.
