Shafter PAL boxing league gains local support
After a December 2007 meeting, Shafter's PAL program forms with school, police and city help. Donations from Gracie Homes, Vulcan Materials totaling 6500 plus 3350 from other groups fund beginner gear and equipment. Volunteers and partnerships drive after school activities, tutoring rooms, a computer lab and an entertainment area.
