Final Rites Held for Frank Penner Wasco Resident
Final services were held Tuesday in the Mennonite Brethren Church for Frank C Penner of Wasco who died at his Wasco home last Thursday at age 79. Survived by widow Marie and six daughters, two sons, 17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren, Penner and his wife long active in California Mennonite Brethren churches. They settled in Wasco in 1917 and celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary September 16.

Coleman to Represent Shafter Delegation at Bakersfield Convention
Coleman will represent about 50 delegates from the Shafter Jehovah's Witnesses at a three day convention in Bakersfield January 29 to 31. The gathering includes congregations from San Fernando and other areas, with an anticipated 1500 to 2000 attendees. Organizers are preparing a large cafeteria at the fairgrounds and Coleman led the cafeteria operations at Yankee Stadium for the Watchtower Society eight day assembly attended by 165,000 in July.
