USO Camp Shows Shift to Flash Acts for Troops
The Army asks for 27 USO Camp Shows units in October with 29 more by year’s start as “flash acts” replace heavier vaudeville formats. About 425 USO clubs will operate in 1947 near military bases, with shows in 187 hospitals. The national drive aims for 19 million dollars, with California targeting 1.503 million dollars raised to date.
