Shafter Youths Vandalize Buttonwillow Buildings
Three youths from Shafter vandalized several Buttonwillow structures smashing two plate glass windows at Walt's Welding Shop and office and two at Buttonwillow Machine Shop. They received 110 dollars in fines and suspended 30 day jail terms if damages totaling about 750 dollars are not settled. Cars including an AFC truck and a Fletcher car were damaged. The youths admitted drinking and offered no reason for the acts.

Low Bid On Euclid Pipeline Project Unveiled
Public Utility District board opened five bids for the Euclid pipeline under Central Valley Highway and Santa Fe tracks. Allgren Pipeline Company of Rocklin was the apparent low bidder at 5231, with J L Scott Company of Anaheim bidding 7790. The board accepted bids and referred them to the District engineer for review and authorized a filing system installation costing 3500 to 3700 to conform to the City system.
